The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences (SHUATS) is established under U.P. Act No. 35 of 2016, as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. SHUATS is established and administered by the Ecumenical Minority Christian Society namely the Sam Higginbottom Educational and Charitable Society registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860 in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The University is a united endeavour of the Christian community in India for promoting rural life and development in conformity with the Christian vision of human kind and the creation. The University is held in trust as a common ecumenical heritage by the Christian Churches and Christian Organizations of the country.
Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (formerly known as Allahabad Agricultural Institute) [SHUATS], Prayagraj established in 1910 is a Deemed University, currently having 85th position in NIRF Ranking 2024. SHUATS Prayagraj is approved by NCTE, ICAR, UGC, AICTE, PCI and AIU, and is accredited by NAAC-A. Admission in Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences is offered in Engineering, Management and Humanities at UG/ PG/ Diploma/ Doctorate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
SHUATS has been accredited an ‘A' grade by NAAC. The institution received UGC approval in 2000, and ICAR and ICFRE approval in 2009.

Internship Opportunities:- Regular farmer's training programmes for rural men and women in various disciplines of Agriculture and allied sectors are organized in the given seven districts. Orientation programmes for line department officers are organized at the Directorate of Extension under Inter-action Programme. Kisan Mela (Farmer's Fair) and Exhibitions are organized in the Kharif and Rabi seasons Ample scope is provided for the students to take their internship in selected villages for practical interaction with the farmers.
Percentage of students getting placements:- 60% of students at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) get placed. The university's Directorate of Career Planning & Counseling (DCPC) works to ensure students are informed about job opportunities and guided toward employment.

I have choose this course as there are lots of career opportunities after completing BSc agriculture graduation program. And we can easily get job as not too much students are aware of this program. I honestly speaking we have to depend on ourselves as college will only teach u but u have to mentally prepared to face the real life challenges while interacting with farmers.

SHUATS Prayagraj is so good. The teachers are so kind and helpful towards our goals. I really appreciate the teachers. They are encouraging us to do better. The agricultural site to encourage me to choose this because this might help us to pursuing the greater opportunities in various fields. The course is so motivating for us. The exams are very frequently happening. Test is also conducted in every week. The final exam is conducted at the end of each semester. It is so good overall in the area

My overall experience of my campus is good . Lots of events are done in university always , slots of programs are also running . The collection of books and journals are too good in the library as they provide slots of varities of books of different sectors too. The faculties and technicalogical provision in the classroom are good they provide us smart boards and Mike for clear voice even in noise environment.their extracurricular activities are good they provide us annual sports meet up too
